Gary's Picnic

A few of us headed down to Shakespeare County Raceway recently to take part in the excellent event, Garys Picnic. After the poor weather many events have experienced this year it was great to be at a drag strip without an umbrella, suncream being the order of the day instead. Jamie Palmer and Richie Moss headed down with their race cars, with support from fellow club members Paul Beardmore and Steve Milward. Rich had a solid weekend of racing although didn’t quite get to the 11 second timing slip he was hoping for, but plans were hatched during the evenings Bench Racing to get his 66 bug ‘Lil Stink Hound’ quicker still. Jamie Palmer had a frustrating weekend racing, only managing two runs throughout the weekend, the first one aborted at half track due to an accelerator cable failure, the second aborted thanks to a split cylinder. The good news is on the second aborted run he managed a new pb of 12.3.

Huge thanks to the Outlaw Flat Four guys for making us so welcome and to the Marshals and Staff of Shakey racetrack. We had a great time! The pics below have been hunted down on the internet as we didn't get to take a camera with us, I don't know who took all the photos, please let us know if you did and we can credit accordingly. We do know Alex 'Jesus' took some of the more expert looking ones!
