Rennwagens display at Tatton Park

Every year we the Rennwagens, say we're going to support our local show VW Northwest. But every year something seems to get in the way, this year was set to be a break from the norm! With Gaz Thompson (owner of the awesome Volksworld featured oval, posted on the blog earlier this month) at the helm of this years club display, things were looking good with 9 confirmed cars a week before the show, this is a rare sight to see 9 Rennwagen cars, members and prospects at one show!
The display went well. With all 9 cars turning up and James "Peachey" Cornes leaving a few Rennwagens 11's on the entry road to the show and to top things off Gaz left the show with a best in class trophy!
Thank you to Paul Beardmore, Steve Plant, Steve Milward, John Wallket, Jon Saxton, Dave Wain, James "Peachey" Cornes and Paul Dipple for displaying at the show. Plus a big thank you and congratulations to Gaz on organising such a great display, bring on next years event!

Rennwagens at Bug jam.

Only two members of the club attended this years event, Damo Tomes in his 2165cc powered 67 Top 20 Volksworld cover car and last years "Best Cal-look" at bug jam, Cal-looker and Neil Payne in His 2276cc powered 1964 Cal-looker.
Both members smashed there previous PB's with Damo running a 13.8 and Neil storming up the ET board with a 13.2! Things were looking good for Neil at this years event, as he also took home "Best Cal-Look"!
Congratulations to both Damo and Neil's on the PB's and show winning lookers!

CLUB CAMPING AT VWACTION

We love having friends and associates of the club along with us camping, but as with all these things it takes time and effort on the part of the club to organise these things – afterall, WITH NO CLUB THERE WOULD BE NO CLUB CAMPING. A nice way to show your appreciation would be to offer to help out in the pits over the weekend, we all need a shove from time to time and the Drag Day marquee will need putting up (and taking back down again!) and many hands make light work – so if you could all try to make yourselves available for a bit of help and support, have a word with one of the guys who is running that weekend and see what you can do to help out. In particular some help with taking the marquee down before everyone disappears on Sunday would be hugely helpful.
